Michele Macready, Managing Partner
Michele is an entrepreneur, advisor, technology strategist, and expert facilitator with 25 years of experience from Wall Street to Silicon Valley. Her clients include global technology companies, rapidly-growing tech startups, tech accelerators, higher education, social ventures, and non-profits in Vancouver and throughout North America.
She has facilitated hundreds of successful strategy and planning workshops, delivered strategy and technology projects up to $25M, and helped dozens of technology startups achieve breakthrough growth.
As Client Partner at Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP), she was responsible for selling and delivering multi-million-dollar strategy and technology projects for Fortune 500 clients across North America.
After successfully selling and delivering a $25M project (the largest project in CTP’s history), Michele founded a technology startup in New York City, where she brought in funding and build the product development team. As VP Consulting for the Bios Group, she was a pioneer in working with leading scientists, MacArthur Fellows, and Capgemini partners to apply complex adaptive systems to solve business problems for executives at Fortune 500 clients. She also started a new product division of Bios Group, where she hired and led a team of offshore scientists and developers and released this product to market.
At Boston Consulting Group, she facilitated conferences with business and academic leaders, and published articles to the worldwide BCG consultants on business strategy. As Director of Worldwide Studio Programs at Electronic Arts, she developed the first central system to be used by all of their worldwide game development studios. She also led an innovative project to build the first recruiting system ever built on the Salesforce.com platform, which was awarded Most Innovative App of the Year by the CEO of Salesforce.com.
Since founding Illume Consulting ten years ago, Michele has focused on helping technology startup founders and venture capitalists achieve breakthrough growth, facilitating world-class strategy and product planning workshops and retreats, and delivering strategy and technology projects that have never been done before, in areas including AI, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, SaaS, Education, and Gaming.
Michele has a BBA from Texas A&M University, and an MALA from St John’s College.
Yee Chan, Senior Management Consultant
Yee brings over 25 years of software industry experience to Illume Consulting. For the past 7 years, Yee has focused on helping high tech companies in Vancouver with strategic initiatives. She launched a series of new products at Top Producer Systems, including Market Snapshot, winner of the 2007 BCTIA Impact Award for Excellence in Product Innovation.
Prior to that, Yee held the position of Vice President, Product Development at Pivotal Corporation. She joined Pivotal at the time of rapid product portfolio expansion as part of their Simba Technologies Inc. acquisition.
Yee joined Simba from MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates. Yee has a B.Sc. Computer Science and MBA from McGill University.
Yee’s background includes the following areas:
Product Development: Yee has 15 years’ experience in directing and mentoring small and large development teams, including 5 years as a multi-functional manager of a start-up venture and 10 years in distributed development.
Product Management: Yee has successfully held Product Management positions throughout her career, utilizing her knowledge of customer requirements, product roadmap planning, and product delivery.
Management Consulting: Yee has effected positive organizational change in product planning, release and execution strategies and best practices in software development and product management.
